The TUM4Health Survey is a detailed scientific data analysis evaluating the current health status of TUM students and the influence of study-related factors on their health behaviors. Results are used to develop needs-oriented offers for students at TUM to promote their health and well-being. The TUM4Health Survey has been conducted in 2019 and 2021.
During finals at the latest it becomes clear that studying is not only fun. So far, however, little research has been carried out into how great the stress actually is and how studying affects health. With this survey, we hope to find answers that can be applied to TUM and its various faculties.
The Prevention Act was passed in 2015, according to which companies, businesses and universities should gradually implement health-promoting measures. With regard to universities, it is interesting that these measures primarily relate to employees, although the students represent the largest status group at universities and colleges with 80%. Only a few universities include the students in their health management.
With the help of this survey's results, we aim to identify which aspects of health are connected to studying. Deficits on this matter should serve as a starting point for establishing long-lasting improvements. This will be one of the student health management's tasks.
