In fact, waking up at night is completely normal and the frequency is often underestimated! People wake up between 20 and 30 times during their sleep without noticing anything. However, we are usually only awake for a few seconds. Sleep is usually perceived as less restful when the duration of the waking phases exceeds 5 minutes and is repeated several times during the night. In general, it can be said: "Sleep is generally perceived as restful if it shows few interruptions and is sufficiently long."
